The story behind Matisse & Sadko

Matisse & Sadko, internationally renowned music producers and DJs, are the accomplished duo comprising Aleksandr and Yury Parkhomenko, who also happen to be siblings. Over the course of their illustrious career, they have wielded significant influence within the realm of dance music, crafting a multitude of anthems that have indelibly resonated with EDM enthusiasts across the globe. Their collaborative ventures have included partnerships with notable artists such as Steve Angello ("SLVR"), Tiesto ("Dawnbreaker"), and Martin Garrix ("Break Through The Silence," "Dragon," "Together," "Forever," "Mistaken," "Hold On," "Won’t Let You Go," "Good Morning"), among others. In addition to their original chart-topping singles, they have lent their remixing prowess to esteemed figures within the industry, including Afrojack and Galantis.

The year 2013 marked a significant milestone for Matisse & Sadko with the release of "SVLR," a collaboration with Steve Angello, followed by a string of releases on the prestigious SPINNIN' Records label. However, it was 2015 that truly catapulted the duo to new heights, as they joined forces with Martin Garrix for the "Break Through the Silence" EP, which propelled them to unparalleled recognition. Notably, the title track amassed an impressive 42 million streams at the time. Building on this success, their partnership with Martin Garrix continued with the creation of "Together," a track that also garnered millions of plays.

In 2016, Matisse & Sadko took a bold step forward by launching their own label, Monomark Music, where they released several notable tracks, including "Machine Gun," "Ya Amar," and "Witchcraft." The year 2017 bore witness to their fourth collaboration with Martin Garrix, "Forever," which emerged as one of the standout dance anthems of the year. Since late 2017, the duo has fostered a close collaboration with Martin Garrix's esteemed label, STMPD RCRDS, resulting in a prolific output of 18 tracks thus far.

A noteworthy pinnacle in the duo's career came in 2018 with their collaboration alongside EDM luminary Tiësto on "Dawnbreaker." In September of the same year, they released "Takeoff" on Musical Freedom, a sublabel of SPINNIN'.

The years 2019 and 2020 proved exceptionally productive for Matisse & Sadko, marked by an exclusive partnership with STMPD RCRDS. This fruitful association yielded ten formidable releases, including two more collaborations with Martin Garrix ("Mistaken," "Hold On") and the track "Don’t Tell Me," which has since accumulated over 23 million Spotify streams. In addition to their original works, the duo also co-produced "Fire" for Ytram & Elderbrook.

The year 2021 saw Matisse & Sadko diversify their creative endeavors. Firstly, they entered into a collaboration with Warner Music to explore pop-oriented compositions, leading to the release of the summery single "OK," featuring Lovespeake. Secondly, they introduced their secondary project, Shy Baboon, with a primary focus on house music. Under this moniker, they have released two singles, including "All We Got" featuring Maejor. Furthermore, they made a triumphant return to their own label, Monomark Music, with a classic Matisse & Sadko progressive track titled "Dawn," featuring Alex Aris. Their affiliation with the Tomorrowland Music label commenced, yielding their inaugural collaboration "Relight My Love." Closing out the year, they unveiled another collaborative effort with Martin Garrix, "Won’t Let You Go."

In the years 2022 and 2023, a substantial volume of new music was introduced. This included their eighth collaboration with Martin Garrix, titled 'Good Morning,' as well as their second single in partnership with Tomorrowland Music, known as 'Feeling.' The partnership between the two entities remains robust, yielding remarkable outcomes. Notably, this collaborative effort resulted in performances on the Main Stage of Tomorrowland during both 2022 and 2023, which unquestionably stood out as a highlight. In addition to these achievements, they also released 'Promise You,' a highly anticipated track among their devoted fanbase.

Throughout their illustrious career, Matisse & Sadko have graced the stages of prominent festivals worldwide, including Tomorrowland and Ultra, as well as iconic venues such as Omnia Las Vegas and Ushuaia Ibiza, solidifying their status as stalwarts in the realm of electronic dance music.
